This limited edition of the French exclusive game “Adibou Et L’Ombre Verte” is quite hard to find complete and in good condition. In the blue Playstation shaped suitcase you will find a copy of the game, a special designed controller, a special designed memory card and a case for the memory card.
The box for this Taiwanese variant of “Jewelriss” has English text and contains the usual sticker on the lid with the games title in Chinese. My copy is a re-release from UMC and therefore has stickers that covers the Bit Corp related material on the box. The instruction manual is in Chinese.
Except for this variant, there exists at least two other Taiwanese variants of “Jewelriss”.
The Taiwanese variant of the Gamate game “Galaxy Invaders” is one of those titles that was released with both a Chinese instruction booklet and an English one. The box has English text with a sticker on the lid that contains the games title in Chinese.
You can generally find the Portuguese and Spanish variants of “Truck Rally” quite easy, but the U.K variant definitely belongs in the top of the most rare titles for the Playstation.
“Legend of Dragon Knight” is a very rare Gamate game. This variant has English text on the box with a sticker on the lid containing the title in Chinese. Since this is a re-release from UMC, the Bit Corp related material on the box is covered by various stickers. The instruction booklet is in Chinese.
I had never seen this variant of “Fist of Thunder” before I found this copy on ebay. The box has the title of the game in Chinese only, while the game description on the back is in English. Both the box and the card has the UMC design and the instruction booklet is in Chinese with English text on the back.
The other known Taiwanese variant does not have the UMC design on the box. I have never seen the game card for it, but I suspect that it is not having the UMC design either.
This is a complete copy of the super rare game “Famous”. The box (which has the UMC design) has a mixture of English and Chinese text and there is a sticker with the Chinese title on the lid. Except for the Chinese instruction booklet, a set of stickers with characters from the game is also included.
I suspect that there might be another Taiwanese variant of this game, that not has the UMC box design and UMC design on the card, but I have never seen it.
Finding a complete copy of “Robin Hood” for the Gamate system is indeed not easy. The box, the instruction manual and the game itself are entirely in Chinese. Included is also a cool Robin Hood sticker.
Here we have a complete copy of the super rare Gamate game “Bao Qing Tian”. Like most of the later UMC titles this game is entirely in Chinese and so are the box and the instruction booklet. A sheet with stickers containing different characters from the game is also included.
Finding a complete copy of the Gamate game “Kiki Inland” is extremely hard. The box has English text, a sticker on the lid containing Chinese letters (probably the title of the game) and a sticker with trademark information from UMC that covers the Bit Corp text on the back. The instruction booklet is in Chinese.
“2 Games: TOCA World Touring Cars/Jonah Lomu Rugby” is probably the most rare “2 Games” compilation of them all. It was released in Australia and New Zealand exclusively.
This is the uncommon variant of the Gamate game “Myth of Asamia” from Yeno, the company that imported and sold Gamate in France and Germany. Yeno has used the box from the international variant and covered the English text on the back with stickers that contains French and German text instead. Yeno-variants usually have the game description in both French and German on the box, but “Myth of Asamia” has it in French only.
Two separate fold-out paper manuals are included, one in French and one in German. Yeno never included the English instruction booklets in their editions.
“Nightmare of Santa Claus” is a real classic for the Gamate. This is the Italian variant so the artwork on the box and the instruction manual are slightly different from the other known variants of the game. The most notable distinction has to be the appearance of Santa Claus, who looks a little bit more respectable on this version.
The Italian GIG-variant of the Gamate game “Myth of Asamia” has a different artwork on the box and the instruction manual than the other known variants of this game. The box and the instructions are in Italian.
This is the Italian variant of “Mini Golf”. It has Italian text on the box and in the instruction booklet.
Here we have the Italian GIG-variant of the Gamate game “Magic Jigsaw”. The box and the instruction manual are both completely in Italian.
The Italian GIG-variant of “Kill Shot” is common and should not be very hard to find. The box and the instruction booklet are in Italian.
Here we have the very common Italian variant of the Gamate game “Flipuzzle”. The box and the instruction manual are completely in Italian and have a different artwork than the other known variants of this game.
This Italian GIG-variant of “Dino Ball” comes with an instruction booklet in Italian and the international box variant which has English text. There also exists another Italian variant of this game where the box is in Italian instead.
This version of the “RFU Adaptor” was manufactured to fit the Playstation consoles that came after model “SCPH-1002”.
I have noticed that it is much harder to find a boxed copy of this adaptor today, than it was just a couple of years ago.
The German variant of the game “5 Star Racing” comes in a big cardboard box. It is a rare item and I have been after it for quite a long time. I am extra happy that the copy I found is still sealed.
This is the Italian variant of the Gamate game “Box Forum”. It is quite common, just like most of the Italian GIG-versions and has Italian text printed on the box and in the instruction booklet.
Here whe have a French exclusive limited edition I have been after for a very long time. The pack contains the French variants of the games “Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes”, “Spec Ops: Covert Assault”, “Hidden & Dangerous” and three war models from Heller.
There also exists a “Wargame Pack Edition Limitee 1”, which has a cover artwork more similar to the “Spec Ops Trilogie” pack and includes the game “GTA 2” instead of “Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes”.
Here we have the Italian variant of “Boom!”. GIG, the company that distributed Gamate in Italy, in some cases created totally new artwork for their game boxes and instruction booklets. At a first glance it might seems like that Italian “Boom!” has the same artwork as the international variant, but with a more closely look you can see that it has quite many differences.
The box and the instructions are both completely in Italian.
The Italian GIG-variant of “Bomb Blaster” has to be one of the most common games for the Gamate. Instead of “Bomb Blaster” it is called “Bomb Blast” and has this alternate title printed on the box, instruction booklet and the cartridge. “Bomb Blast” might actually be a more correct name for this game since that is what it is called according to the title screen. The instructions and the box are both completely in Italian.
The Taiwanese variant of “Flipuzzle” is very hard to find compared to the much more common Italian GIG-edition of the game. The box has English text and the instruction booklet is in Chinese.
Here we have a really cool British game pack released by Take 2. I had no idea that it existed before I found this copy on ebay.
The cardboard sleeve contains “Tunguska”, “Action Bass” and the Value Series version of “The Adventures of Monkey Hero”.
This is the U.K variant of the Phoenix game “Robin Hood: The Siege”. Usually there are some German copies to find on ebay, but the U.K variant has become pretty rare nowadays.
Here we have a nice Spanish game pack from Acclaim. It contains the Spanish variant of “Shadow Man” and the Platinum version of “Alien Trilogy”.
I had never seen this blister pack before I found this copy on ebay.
This press kit used to be quite common, but has become more hard to find over time. It consists of a nice little metal case with the “Gran Turismo 2” logotype on the cap, a press CD-ROM, the two game discs and two protective foam rubber discs.
I had no idea that this French blister pack existed before I recently found this copy on ebay. It contains the French variant of the game “Disney’s Party Time With Winnie the Pooh” and a video cassette with the movie “Les Nouvelles Aventures de Winnie l’Ourson – Winnie et le tigre fou”.
This is the most common variant of the “All Star Action” big box versions. The blue cardboard box has Dutch text on its back, while the game itself is the U.K variant. This makes me believe that it was sold in both the U.K and the Benelux countries.
The German variant of the “All Star Action” big box version, is much more uncommon than the Dutch/U.K blue variant, but about equal in rarity in comparison to the European variant I think.
The yellow, oversized cardboard box that contains the game is still sealed.
The “Final Fantasy VIII” press kit is actually the exact same as the “Final Fantasy VIII Limited Edition Box-Set”, except that a press disc is included and instead of the normal variant of the game, the press kit has promo discs in a double jewel case without inlays or instruction booklet.
The really good looking cardboard box contains promo discs of the game, a CD-ROM with press information, an official white Playstation “Memory Card” in a blister pack, a green memory card protective case, a fold-out booklet containing stickers of various Playstation games (for the memory card protective case), a sheet of “Final Fantasy VIII” memory card stickers, a big double-sided “Final Fantasy VIII” poster and a “Final Fantasy VIII” t-shirt.
It could be a little more tricky to find the press kit than the limited edition, but it is not very rare. Since there are a lot of collectors for this game series, a press kit like this could be quite expensive.
“Quiz Show” is a really rare Italian exclusive release. I searched this game every day for a couple of months before it finally appeared on ebay.
This is the Sony licensed controller “The Glove” from Reality Quest.
Except for the controller and the instruction booklet, a VHS tape is also included. The white label on the cassette says: “PLAY THIS DEMO TAPE FIRST. PAL VERSION. Learn about “The GLOVE” for Playstation Games”.
This is a limited edition of the game “Beyblade – Let it Rip!”. It is probably German exclusive and is very hard to find.
It contains the German variant of the game, a Beyblade sack and a Beyblade cap.
This is a complete copy of “Galaxy Invaders” for the Gamate. It has English text on the box and in the instruction manual.
There are always some Italian GIG-editions out on ebay, but finding the international one could be quite tricky.
Here we have the red German cardboard box version of “Family Games Compendium”. It is a lot more uncommon than the black German variant, but not necessary very expensive. This copy is new and sealed.
This unusual memory card pack was released in France only. It contains the French variant of “Teletubbies – Play With the Teletubbies” and a yellow 1 Mb memory card from Joytech. A barcode sticker covers the original barcode for the game.
Loose carts of “Witty Apee” turns up quite frequently since it was included in some console bundles, but finding a complete copy like this, is indeed not easy.
The box has English text and a sticker on the lid containing Chinese letters. Some Taiwanese variants came with double manuals and “Witty Apee” is one of them, so except for the standard Chinese instruction booklet, there is also an English manual included.
The U.K variant of “Yetisports World Tour” is one of those budget games that has become really hard to find lately. There are usually a couple of French variants to find at ebay, but you will seldom see the English one. I am predicting that this game is going to be very sought after in the near future, which will increase the value alot. So if you find a copy, buy it immediately while it is still quite cheap.
The “Vib-Ribbon” press kit is a really good looking piece and relatively uncommon.
Inside the plastic folder you will find the game disc, a CD-ROM with press information, a music-CD and a “Vib-Ribbon” poster.
The big box version of “All Star Racing” is very uncommon.
Unlike the other big box games, this one has a cardboard sleeve that covers the cardboard box. The game is the multi-language variant.
This is a very rare limited edition console pack. I suspect that it is an Italian exclusive, as the watch manufacturer Sector is located there.
The thin outer cardboard box, which has a small plastic window where the watch is displayed, contains the standard silver box variant of the Playstation “PSone SCPH-102C” console bundle and a Playstation watch from Sector. The watch comes in a nice looking display case, which also contains a “World Service Centers” booklet and some kind of certification card from Sector. The console box contains the usual stuff (a console, a white “Dual Shock” controller, power and AV cords, a scart adapter and printed materials).
This is an amazing addition to the collection!

“Dinosaur Park” is a super rare fighting game for the Gamate system. It is entirely in Chinese, but offers the possibility to switch into English text in the game through the options menu.

This bundle might be slightly more common than the other combo packs that was released in cardboard boxes.
It contains a “Not to be sold separately” copy of the game “Formula One 99” and an official Playstation CD case.
This is the black German big box version of the game “Family Games Compendium”. It is the most common one of the three known variants. You can find this on ebay quite often and should not be especially expensive.
Here we have a sealed copy of the rare “Velocity x3” game pack. It was released by Acclaim, in Australia and New Zealand exclusively.
In the cardboard sleeve you will find the Australian/New Zealand variants of the games “Vanishing Point”, “RC Revenge” and “Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000”. The cases have the same size as the ones for regular music-CDs.
The U.K variant of the “This Is Football” press kit has the shape of a notebook and contains a red pencil, a white review copy of the game disc, a CD-ROM with press information and a fold-out leaflet which is connected to the cover.
This is one of the more common press kits out there.
This is a very rare French variant of the “All Star Action” big box version.
Unlike the other “All Star Action” big box variants (Dutch/U.K, German and European), this one has a sleeve instead of a box with a cap. In the design it looks similar to the also blue coloured Dutch/U.K variant, but has a few differences. For example, the French variant says “12 STAR GAMES” in yellow letters on the front cover, while the Dutch/U.K one says “12 PS ONE GAMES” in red letters.
“Tekken Dark Resurrection” press kit is a quite common and good looking collectors item.
The red soft case contains a pre-production copy of the game, a CD-ROM with press information, an information booklet and a couple of combat survival cards. The cards displays screenshots from the game with a humorous element.
This is a complete copy of the Gamate game “Kung-Fu Fighter”. It has English text on the box and in the instruction booklet. A sticker on the backside of the box, that covers the Bit Corp logo, reveals that this is a UMC re-release of the game.
You are looking at a complete set of unlicensed PAL games for Playstation 1. Well, actually only two of the titles could be defined as real games, since three of them are screensavers and one is a visually enhanced CD player with a mini game.
The text “FOR PLAYSTATION 2 & PSONE” is printed on the front covers, but since the games works on a Playstation 1 console, they are technically Playstation 1 titles. Playstation 2 is backward compatible, so it will play all Playstation 1 games, but Playstation 1 can never play a Playstation 2 game.

This is a quite common game combo from France.
Bundled in a blister pack, you will find re-releases of the games “V-Rally ’97 – Championship Edition” and “Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee”. Both games are French variants.
This copy of the Gamate game “Tennis” has English text on the box and in the instruction manual. It is a re-release of the game, which originates from the time when UMC had taken over the Gamate brand from Bit Corp. You can see this on the back of the box, where UMC has covered the Bit Corp text with a UMC sticker.
What is really special with this variant is the cartridge. On a black border, below the graphics (which has green as background colour, instead of the usual yellow), is the text “UNISYN CORP.” printed. Thanks to the valuable information from ZABORGER in the comment section, I now know that UNISYN CORP. is the previously company name of UMC. Many thanks for that ZABORGER!
There also exists a variant of “Bomb Blaster” with a cartridge that also has the exact same “UNISYN CORP.” print.
This game is easy in the top 20 of the most rare Playstation 1 standard releases. “Herkules” is one of those cheap “Cartoon Film, Jigsaw Puzzle and Colouring Book” Phoenix titles and will probably only interest the obscure game collector or the ones who are going for a full PAL set.
Fortunately, when the game finally turns up for sale, it will cost you almost nothing.
“The Hoobs Playtime Gift Pack” is a really rare object nowadays. My copy includes the Australian/New Zealand variant of the game and for a long time this limited edition was considered to be an exclusive release for these countries. I just recently found out that this pack also exists bundled with a Spanish variant of the game and the flags on the cardboard box back indicates that it probably was released in some other countries as well.
The game disc comes in a music-CD style case, which has “Not to be sold separately” printed on its backside inlay.
The box contains, except for the game itself, a character from the TV-show as a plush toy. I have never seen this limited edition packed with any other figure than this green one.
A brand new and sealed copy of “World Cup 98 Limited Edition”. This box set contains the game itself, tournament wall chart & rules, red & yellow cards, a penalty blindfold, a disposable FUJI camera and a rubber remote control.
A great limited edition, loaded with stuff! I have seen a couple of these on ebay and they seem to catch quite high prices and even more expensive when sealed.
This limited edition of “Spider-Man” is a German exclusive release. The big cardboard box contains the game itself, a blue Spider-Man T-shirt and a Spider-Man comic.
There are a couple of known copies in the hand of other collectors, but it rarely turns up for sale, so when I saw this one I grabbed it immediately. It was quite expensive, but the condition is really good. The game and the T-shirt are still sealed and the comic looks untouched.
